UHs End of Year extravaganza
POSTED ON 31ST MAY 2013
With exams coming to an end, the University of Hertfordshire Student Union (UHSU) Volunteer Centre planned and executed a plethora of events for students to enjoy. These activities were organised in conjunction with UHSU Raise and Give (RaG) all in the name of raising money for good causes.

Many students volunteered in a variety of ways to help make the day a success. It began with tasty treats for students passing through the de Havilland Atrium. A row of tables were covered with tea and cakes that were yours for a small donation to charity. Various amazing cakes were also entered from the students of the baking society for entry into a baking competition.

Excellent efforts by all and personally the above cupcakes are my favourite. Prizes included a hamper as well as Apple Ipads.
At 10:00am I moved out to the de Havilland astroturf where the majority of the events were being held. The main event was a society 5-a-side football tournament where groups from all over the university were represented. I tried my hand at sport photography once again, and got quite a few decent shots despite having only a basic lens with me.
A barbeque was at the entrance, the proceeds of which went to charity, I had a cheeseburger that tasted amazing. Beside that were cakes from the competition earlier as well as free candy floss.
Free Activities for students included a bucking bronco, an inflatable obstacle course and inflatable battle arenas. Crush Radio was also broadcasting live from the event.
Thanks for reading.
